Every bit you use in life is very important, and every new year is a continuation of the previous year and the next phase of your journey. We can't arrive at our destination without taking each step; that's why planning is very important. Planning is the same as a map that gives directions to navigate. We can see clearly on the map the route to take, and sometimes we might have to take other routes due to life circumstances.
Here are 4 reasons you should start planning ahead.
1. It makes fulfilment easy: Let's use a story of two delivery men who were given a task to make a delivery to another city. Man A was provided with everything needed to make the delivery a success, I mean in terms of address, contact details of the customer, a step-by-step guide, and an alternate route list, but Man B was only provided with the customer's name and house number without a street name. In a case where there is nothing that will cause disruption, Man A will get the package delivered faster and more perfectly than Man B, only if Man A takes action to get the package delivered. This is exactly what planning does; it makes what you do easy because you already have a map to guide you.
2. It makes you know what to do: Many people complain about not knowing what to do; the reason is because they don't have a plan. When you have a plan, it presents the action you should take to progress forward and fulfil your goals, ambitions, and purpose. A plan does not work, but it will show the work you are to do. It eradicates the excuse for not taking action.
3. Clarity: When you look at a plan, you always see the picture of what you want to achieve. It makes you cross the T's and dot the I's and complete the puzzle. Every plan is meant to present your purpose to you; it is meant to show what the year should look like. It is meant to be in your imagination, and to be honest, your plan will do this to you.
4. It serves as a reminder that you shouldn't be idle: Most times when I look at my plan, it speaks to me that I should take action; it always tells me to do something. Plans will always haunt you to take action unless you are the lazy type; that's when you won't take action.
In conclusion,
Your plan is what serves as a map, reminder, motivation, and a picture to fulfil your purpose. This is one of the secrets of great people, because their plans remind them of what is at stake and their current location when they check the map, which is their plan.
