Time: The Misery of a Man

"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going. I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all."

Time is one of the things we are subjected to as humans. Time is a period; it has a beginning and an end. We cannot control time, but we can redeem or acquire time. If we cannot control time, then we redeem or acquire it by our actions. No one can stop time, but we can decide what to do with it.

Now back to the first paragraph of this article. The first paragraph shared a powerful wisdom: “Time and chance happen to them all.” If we go along with the statement without looking deep into the whole context, we will probably think it is by luck or probably think, “When it is my time, everything will work out.” Thinking in this manner is a great misery.

The statement proceeded with, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.” It is very clear to us that our journey on earth will come to an end because we have a beginning and an end. This is the revelation for us to always make good use of time with our actions. What you do daily matters.

Do you not know that you have witnesses? Your works and your words are your witnesses. Think about it. What do you say and what do you do? I have noticed that people who talk too much without redeeming time always end up in regret and blame everyone for their inaction.

The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.

But is this true?

We have seen the swift lose the race, the strong lose the battle, the wise not having bread to eat, the man of understanding not getting riches, and men of skill not getting favor. This is because the swift can become slow when time and chance are supposed to happen. The strong man may not be strong at the right time. You cannot compare the strength of your youth to that of your old age. The wise man may become foolish when time and chance are supposed to happen. The man of understanding may lack understanding. The man of skill may not be skillful at the right time.

The continuation of my thoughts leads us back to the first statement, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might.” This is the thing missing that can make the swift lose, the wise die of hunger, the man of understanding lack riches, and so on.............

What makes time and chance happen to us is what we do with our might, what we do with our all. What we do with our might is simply defined as diligence and consistency, and it is what makes time and chance favor us. A swift person who is not diligent will live in misery. A wise man who is not diligent will live in misery. The same thing applies to the skillful man and the man of understanding.

With diligence and consistency, we can redeem time and make chances favor us. If we cannot control time, we can control our actions by being diligent and consistent in whatever we do.

Time is not your enemy, but it is not your friend either. It moves whether you are ready or not. It does not pause for regret. It does not slow down for excuses.

The race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong. But the opportunity belongs to those who understand the moment they are in and act on it.

You cannot control tomorrow. You cannot relive yesterday. All you truly have is now.

So whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.

  • Build.
  • Serve.
  • Love.
  • Grow.
  • Start.

Because when time has spoken its final word, only what you did with it will remain.

The question is not how much time you have.

The question is what you are doing with the time you have.

Why Faith

Why Faith? All things are possible unto him that believes. Most of what you see is a result of someone’s belief. Faith is a creative power that produces what we cannot see with our ordinary eyes into reality and makes us see them clearly in the physical. You can’t see goals, dreams, or supernatural things come into reality with your eyes except they are manifested by faith into reality. Faith is a superpower you must possess because you will only have visions, goals, dreams, and wishes without it. What Can Faith Do? Faith makes anything possible.
